We had a one night layover. Easy to take the train from Schiphol and the hotel is very close to the main train station. It was inexpensive and clean but extremely small with clean shared bathroom (dorm style). Fine for a clean safe, inexpensive place to stay the night.

Stayokay Hostel Amsterdam is located in the heart of the Vondelpark and offers a view on the green surroundings. The Van Gogh Museum is an 8-minute walk away.

Rooms are great, love the blackout curtains that gives you more privacy and/or less light to bother or being bothered by the other cellphones lights. Bathrooms were constantly being checked for the cleaning staff. Everything was very practical and clean. My “roommates” were very quiet and respectful with noises at night so it made the stay nicer. You can rent umbrellas if needed which was great bc I didn’t want to buy one for just couple days. Staff were helpful and location is great if you are biking around but if walking, it’s a little far out from the main touristic area. I also love that you have your own locker with the digital card as a key. Locker is very spacious too.
