The staff was great! Helping with any needs, had suggestions where to rent a bike cheap and the hostel is close to the city centre. The place is extremely clean, each of our rooms had their own bathrooms, and the owner is very lovely, friendly person. Also the common area is very clean, spacious and very well equipped.

They were very helpful, had bag storage, clothes washing facilities and we're very kind to provide us with breakfast items the evening before, as we were leaving very early on a tour the next day. The room and bathroom was clean and the outdoor seating area is a nice place to sit and relax. The place is close to the bus stations and the centre of town.

Located in the city's historic centre, Hostal El Arbol offers accommodations in La Serena. Free Wi-Fi access is available here. A very cool mix of guests from many countries. It's 500m to the Japanese Garden (lots of ducks and swans) and the pedestrian bridge (Pasarela), which connects to the big shopping center and has buses to everywhere in the city, the airport, Coquimbo and Pisco Elqui. TIPS: The upstairs bath is the nicest. Consider staying in Vicuña for a night or two -- very charming, easy access to Pisco, and heaps of deep space observatories with telescopes (Pangue is the best).
