Elterwater Hostel

Elterwater

In the Lake District village of Elterwater, the independent Elterwater Hostel offers dormitories and private rooms, with a communal lounge and dining area. Nestled in Langdale Valley, this hostel also boasts free WiFi, home-cooked food, cycle storage and is also just 2 minutes’ walk from the local pub. Clean, comfortable, affordable, great hosts. Also a great breakfast and a very useful drying room. The little village of Elterwater is very charming and it has a very cosy pub 1 minute from the hostel. I would definitely come back. The only minor discomfort to keep in mind is that free parking in the village is very limited and not super close to the hostel.

Heidi's Grasmere Lodge

Grasmere

A charming 19th-century bed and breakfast, Heidi’s Grasmere Lodge offers luxury accommodation in the heart of the Lake District. It has free on-site parking.

Rooms at Heidi’s are individually decorated, warm and comfortable. They have beautiful views of the surrounding scenery. The accommodation, staff and food were all amazing. The location couldn’t have been better and Emma went above and beyond to make our stay extra special for my boyfriend’s birthday. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive. I would thoroughly recommend Heidi’s to anyone looking for a comfortable, cosy and friendly place to stay. The only teeny tiny criticism/recommendation that we would make is that there was no fridge in our room for refreshments etc. That aside, i doubt we would have enjoyed our holiday as much without Heidi’s Cafe & Lodge!
