Quiet location with the gentle sound of the surf. I am on a bicycle ride and found the location ideal: A day's ride from Amami via Route 81, then a loop to Kasarizaka Lighthouse at northern end of island, then a ride south on Route 58.

They’re not around all day but when they are, they’ve very welcoming and kind. Despite not speaking the same language, they made exceptional effort using google translate to support me. The scooter hire was considerably affordable and a great way to get around the island. Highly recommended!
