It is new this December, and the owners have put so much effort into making it an enjoyable place and that is conducive to a peaceful stay and a community atmosphere. The facilities are clean and comfortable, and the location is right next to a lovely beach (great place to be for sunset). The breakfast is fantastic, and there are plenty of indoor and outdoor spaces to spend time, do work, or talk to other people in the hostel. Arjuna the owner is very friendly and helpful, and goes above and beyond to make sure visitors are happy and comfortable. I would enthusiastically recommend Colombo Mount Hostel for anyone looking for a peaceful and fun stay in the Colombo area.

The best hostel I have ever stayed in in 3 countries! The best shower I've had since arriving in Sri Lanka a couple of years ago. Nuwan at the front desk was friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. Fantastic design with the attention to detail and comfort all throughout the property really well done. Well designed and really exceptional and the rooftop restaurant is also great! I will definitely be back whenever I go to Colombo in future and won't stay anywhere else

First of all I like the cleanliness , second is the staff , David was so amazing , his hospitality I can’t explain marvelous , and his kindness, and the place which is so comfortable. The place was way better than any hostels I’ve stayed at. The dorms were clean, bathrooms were neat, there was a washing machine for laundry. The roof top area was good. I met Madhu at the front desk; she was so sweet.

Wake up, breakfast, chill and start the day feeling good :) I stayed there for a good 3/4 nights and the staff were lovely. Left my hiking boots behind and the team organised a delivery for me so I was reunited with them before my flight home - above and beyond!
