I had an amazing time staying at Hello Aliya Hostel. The location is perfect — very close to Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala, and also just a short walk or ride from the main town. It’s very convenient yet peaceful, surrounded by greenery and a relaxing garden atmosphere. The breakfast was really delicious and fresh every morning, and it’s included in the price, which makes it such great value. Everything is clean and well-maintained — the beds are comfortable, the sheets smell fresh, and the bathroom is spotless with good water pressure. They even provide a hair dryer, lockers, and free tea and coffee throughout the day, which I really appreciated. The overall vibe of the place is cozy and welcoming. The staff are friendly, and the owner, Isu, is incredibly helpful and kind. He helped me arrange a safari to Hurulu Eco Park — it was affordable, well-organized, and I got to see so many elephants up close! This hostel really offers more than expected for the price — comfort, cleanliness, good food, and a warm local touch. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya!

Sigiri Birds Hostel está en Sigiriya, a 1,7 km de Yacimiento arqueológico de Sigiriya, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, terraza y restaurante. El hostel es de una familia y tienen un terreno grande con árboles y naturaleza. Está a tan solo 2 mins de una calle principal donde puedes coger los Tuk tuks y desplazarte . Ahí encontrarás más restaurantes. Ellos fueron encantadores preguntándome y recomendándome sitios o ayudándome con lo que necesitara saber sobre el viaje. Son encantadores y tienen dos hijos preciosos y muy buenos. La habitación tiene varias camas pero es grande y el baño está en la propia habitación, también grande y limpio, con lo básico necesario. Me ha encantado estar en esta estancia, de las más bonitas de mi viaje.

The people at this hostel took us to Pidurangala and Mapagala in their own vehicle at sunrise and sunset. We also went to see Pahalagama Lake and Sigiriya Fort. They provided very good service.

Jungle Trails is a raw gem. If you’re looking for a sense of luxury at a budget price point, this is a great place to stay while it’s still being developed. The location is excellent, the property and rooms are beautiful, and the owners are incredibly kind and attentive. While they are not always on site, they are consistently prompt and responsive to any questions. Do keep in mind that this is a jungle setting. If you are very uncomfortable with insects or wildlife, this may not be the right fit — or you may prefer a higher-end property designed to be more sealed from the surrounding environment. It’s also worth noting that Wi-Fi can be spotty depending on where you are on the property, and mobile signal does not reliably reach the area. This means you are quite disconnected, which some guests will love and others may find challenging. The staff went above and beyond to help in this regard — they even relocated the router to my dorm, which I happened to have to myself. Overall, a beautiful and memorable stay with great hospitality.

Night Owl Hostel Sigiriya se encuentra en Sigiriya, a 4 km de Yacimiento arqueológico de Sigiriya y a 5,9 km de Pidurangala Rock. I’m from Japan!! This was such a wonderful place to stay. Very clean, and above all, the people are amazing. Kani is extremely friendly and kind. He did so many things for me!! I also admire his way of thinking—he truly values encounters and connections with people. You can see it not only in his words, but also in his actions. Thank you for the precious experience in Sigiriya!! Highly recommended!!! Some people may think it’s a bit far from Sigiriya Rock, but actually the entrance is on the west side, and I believe this is one of the few places within walking distance around there.

There was a pool in the bedroom of the king suite, which was amazing, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. I also enjoyed the buffet breakfast and dinner that was included.
