The owners Daniela & Tony went above and beyond for their guests to make sure we were all comfortable and had everything for our stay. Beds in the dorm were comfortable, bathroom was clean, everyone had a fan, drinking water provided, hammocks, a delicious affordable breakfast was also an option which I highly recommend! The location was close to the ferry port, it was very easy to explore other parts of the island by renting a scooter.

La Urraca Loca Hostel tiene jardín, terraza, restaurante y bar en Balgue. El alojamiento dispone de zona de barbacoa y se encuentra a 12 km de Volcán Maderas. We had an amazing stay at La Urraca Loca. The location on the island is perfect for most activities. The hostel is an oasis of beautiful plants and the rooms are great. Also Daniel is very helpful and attentive. I’ve recommended this hostel to everyone who visits Ometepe since it is probably my favorite on in my two months in Central-America. Also shoutout to the lovely kitten Gnocchi (such a good name.. ;))

Really friendly and helpful staff, good food, fun Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy Theme. Nice location, walking distance to town/the ferry but quiet and away from the commotion.

Staff was so kind, room was clean and comfortable with a fan for each bed, location was perfect for getting on the ferry the next day and they are able to help set up rides/excursions. Excellent value for the price, would definitely stay again!

El Zopilote Permaculture Farm/hostel es un albergue para mochileros y una granja de permacultura al mismo tiempo. Tuve una hermosa experiencia en el Zopilote, la gente que trabaja es lo mejor, me trataron muy bien. La comida es riquísima y todo es espectacular. Gracias! 🙏🏻❤️

Hostal Casa Moreno tiene piscina al aire libre, jardín, salón de uso común y terraza en Moyogalpa. Este albergue de 3 estrellas ofrece bar. Everything was great! Super nice and helpful staff. Helped us organize tours and transport. Breakfast was great. We will come again.

Raindance se encuentra en Santa Cruz y ofrece alojamiento con piscina al aire libre, jardín y bar frente a la playa, a 19 min a pie de Playa de Santo Domingo. It’s social and the dorms and the bed are really nice with a lot of privacy

Rainbow Caravan Hostel está en Las Pilas, a 17 km de Volcán Maderas, y dispone de alojamiento con jardín, parking privado gratis, salón de uso común y restaurante. The place was very clean and tidy, tranquil, and no noise at night which is rare in Nicaragua because there's always someone making some noise. The food was quality, homemade vegan goodness. Making a fire was cool and it has all the modern amenities like a fridge and cooking equipment so you can bring beer. Didn't have any bugs unlike some of the other hostels i stayed in on Ometepe. It's quite a good location equidistance between the two towns and near the start of Volcan Concepción. I recommend renting an ATV rather than a scooter at the port and picking it up in Ometepe, don't trust the people on the San Jorge side. The hostel also offers scooter rental although I picked mine up at port. Very photogenic hostel and peaceful.
