Paul is super helpful, not only he helped me arrange local tours, he is also very knowledgable of the local transportations and nearby hikes so I couldn take public transport and hike on my own. Also very considerate, make sure I have properly acclimatized before doing any hikes. On days that I had to leave early to a tour, I was given bread (basic but still nice) to take with me.

Everything. Host Erik is a fantastic person, went above and beyond to accommodate us. His whole family is very kind and generous. Breakfast was, for the first time in Central and South Americas, filling and good. Rooms were spacious and quiet. Good location and insanely good price value. Erik also offers a bunch of tours.

Carla, the hostel host, was amazing! She could always point us in the right direction when we had questions and was full of good advice for things to do in Huaraz and the surrounding areas. She even stayed up past midnight to let us in the first night when our bus was delayed 3 hours.

Great place to stay and the family who runs the hostel is amazing. We were able to check in just after arriving by overnight bus, without an extra fee. Spacious room, hot water, good WiFi. The shared kitchen is upstairs and has nice views over the mountains. We were able to store our luggage for free after check out and could still use the kitchen and rooftop area. We forgot our laptop charger and they went out of their way to go to a courier to send it to our next destination (organizing it online didn’t work), which was so helpful and nice. Couldn’t recommend more to stay here.

I loved the friendly staff that made you feel at home and welcome. You can’t beat the location and the value for climbers traveling on a budget great place to meet other climbers. I’ll stay here again if I make it back to Hiaraz!
