Offering a large terrace and a seasonal outdoor pool, The Lighthouse Hostel is located in Sagres. Free WiFi access is available. The nearest beach is 2 km away. It was epic. Hands down one of the best hostels I ever stayed at. If not even best. Those people know how to run a hostel.

The Boutique Taghostel is located in a charming old building on the main avenue of Lagos directly in front of the marina with stunning sea views. Free WiFi is available. Lovely people that make you feel at home. Clean and spacious shared facilities. Shared dinners are an amazing experience.

Situated in Portimão, Sky and Sand Hostel has a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. Very easy check in with a super communicative host! The location was perfect - walking distance from the beach, the strip with all the restaurants and clubs and easy to order an Uber from. The host went out of his way to make the stay more comfortable, made sure everything was clean and helped with anything I needed. Also has very cute communal areas for connecting with other travellers in the hostel! Made some great friends while staying there. If I ever come back to the area again would definitely rebook with them.

Featuring a terrace, Hostel A Casa da Árvore is set in Faro in the Algarve region, 12 km from Church of São Lourenço and 26 km from Vilamoura Marina. The hostal is centrally located and highly comfortable. Rui, the host, was excellent and always made sure I felt comfortable. During my stay, he recommended several places to eat and hang out. Without a doubt, I would stay there again.

Situated 300 m from Faro Marina, Casa da Madalena Backpackers backpackers features a rooftop terrace with views over the colourful marina and the historical rooftops and a 24-hour front desk reception... Cosy and friendly place. Loved the hammocks and the shared breakfast with everyone. The location was perfect for exploring too. I really enjoyed the privacy curtains in the bunk as well.

As I am 49 yrs old, I wasn’t sure about booking a hostel but I’m glad I did. Booked the double room and had privacy and quiet when I needed it. But it was great to interact with others from all over the world
