Loved this hostel! Iris, the owner, is so kind and present. Check in was super easy and I was able to check out late before my flight. The breakfast was wonderful and the rooms are really nice. My room had full bed bunk beds -- it was so nice to have a little bigger space to sleep after twin bed throughout the rest of my trip. The hostel is in a great location too and is super clean!

I stayed 6 nights in a 6-bed dorm and loved it. The beds were comfortable, the entire hostel is hospital-clean, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The rooftop terrace has the most amazing view for sunrise and sunset. Towels are free and if you want a beach towel to take with you to the beach, they offer one for free as well. Despite so many amenities, the hostel is still cheaper than others here with less amenities. SkyPDL has one of the nicest kitchens I've ever seen in a hostel. Even better, they have sharp knives! The breakfast is delicious and the menu has small bonus changes daily. If you check out early in the morning, they prepare you a breakfast to go. The hostel is 5-10 minutes from the center, the port, shopping and restaurants

Beautiful place, right in the city centre. A premium service offered by the hosts Susana and Pedro: they really took care of us, explaining everything Ponta Delgada has to offer and even more. If you think about staying in a premium place with comforts in Ponta Delgada you know Matriz 55 is the place for you!
