Despite my very late arrival caused by cancelled and delayed flights, Calin was extremely accommodating! The place itself is perfectly located if you're looking for something close to the Cluj airport and it's budget friendly. It was warm, clean and comfortable! Highly recommended!

It was very well in the middle of the city, which meant easy access to anything. It also meant no free parking places around downtown, and no warning about it. We managed eventually, with the help of friends, but warning would have been appreciated. Apart from that, everything was as advertised, and even better (generous bathroom, clean, high-end appliances, they managed to squeeze in a refrigerator, coffee maker and electric mug for tea, free change of towels). Excellent value for money, friendly staff, great location. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the triple room with a private bathroom and we were very happy with it. The bathroom was spacious. Helga was very friendly and helpful and spoke great English. She showed us that there was a closer entrance to the Turda Salt Mines just a 20 minute walk away. The kitchen was well equipped for making a decent meal, and there is a balcony attached to the kitchen which is nice for dinner and breakfast. There are two friendly dogs on the premises. The house is just a five minute walk to the town with grocery stores and good coffee.

Situated in a pedestrian area inside Cluj-Napoca's mediaeval city wall, Hostel Retro offers 24-hour reception, free bicycles, as well as a sauna for a surcharge. The man in a reception was very kind and helped us with all information’s also for our trip further and “good to know” during traveling in Romania. We were very gratefull to have a room in a Retro hostel.
