We arrived 2,5 hours later than expected around midnight. Although the host left the hostel at 9pm already, he opened the door for us and told us what we needed to know. Thanks for this exceptional flexibility. The location is very good, in the center of Hualien close to the train station. The beds were very comfortable, the room was well cleaned, the common area was a nice place to chill. the next morning we left early to Taroko National Park. We were able to check out early without any problems. We had a great stay and the best sleep in a long time!

Very close to the station, inside the place feels lika a museum. You keep your shoes outside but get slippers which creates a home vibe. The kitchen is well equipped, there are free bikes outside. I was offered a free toothbrush since I had lost my cosmetics bag.

Goat 山羊青旅民宿 se encuentra en Hualien, a 4 km de Pine Garden, y ofrece alojamiento con wifi gratis y parking privado gratis. I have stayed here a few times over the years and it is always amazing. The beds are very comfortable and private. The showers are hot and have good pressure. The owner is very kind and helpful and really makes sure the guests are taken care of. Just a 10 minute walk from the train station and surrounded by plenty of places to eat. This will always be my go-to hostel when I’m in Hualien.

This was truly a "minshuku". The owner owns and lives there. It is not another commercial space rented out to build hostel. In terms of facilities, the room and bathroom were clean. The stairs were not an issue for me. The owner is very nice and welcoming. Overall, my favorite stay in Taiwan.
