Compass Hostel in Nungwi provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. Best hostel I've stayed in my life! The hostel is super beautiful, with an inviting outdoor area and a comfortable shared room. Service is also the best I've seen anywhere on the island: the manager, the staff and the security are super professional, friendly and will go out of their way to make sure you have a perfect stay. The dorms have AC, the beds are huge and comfortable and each bed has an individual safe, a fan and a light. It is very clean and they make the bed every day. Location is very central, just a short walk from the main street with restaurants but in a quite street and 5 minutes walk to the beach. Wifi worked perfectly everyday.

I have traveled around the world and this is definitely one of the best hostels I have been to. Most amazing staff which helps with anything, great location right at the beach, everything always clean, delicious food and drinks and own tour operator with reliable and safe tours. Moreover, everything used in the hostel is produced locally. The vibe is just magnificent, it felt like family and was a place I didn’t want to leave.

Set within less than 1 km of House of Wonders and a 6-minute walk of Old Fort of Zanzibar, VUGA Hostel provides rooms in Zanzibar City. Loved the curtains and private fans in bunks. Only a small hostel so it wasn't super busy and overwhelming. Great location only a few minutes from Stonetown sights. Good internet!

I absolutely loved the people, both the staff and the guests. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming. The ambiance and environment were amazing, really laid-back and social. The food was honestly the best I had during my trip. They also have a ping pong table and a volleyball net so theres always something to do, and the beach is just a short walk away. It’s the perfect setup for a fun and relaxing stay.

Situated 300 metres from Stone Town Beach, Stone Town House offers rooms with air conditioning in Zanzibar City. Stone Town House exceeded my expectations. I booked a bed in a four bedded dorm and I was taken aback at the spaciousness of the room which was air-conditioned and had 2 fans. The beds were tidied up daily by the housekeeping staff. The shared baths and toilets were spotlessly clean. The additional bonus was having a tea and coffee trolley outside the room. Aishah who works there as a receptionist is a gem of a person... helpful, kind and soft spoken. The other staff there are equally very polite.
