Located in Burra North, a short stroll to the Bon Accord Museum, Railway Station and two hotels which serve alcohol and meals, dine in or takeaway. Located less than 2km from the Main Street of Burra. A fully equipped Blackwood kitchen is available to prepare your own meals or have a bbq on the back deck. Supplies provided for a continental and a full English breakfast. The perfect place to relax in after you have spent your day touring our wonderful historic sites, or after visiting the Clare Valley wine region, which is a half hour drive away. Quality linen and toiletries provided. Ducted heating and cooling in the old section of the house, split system in the addition. Second bathroom in the fully equipped laundry. Pet friendly with a fully enclosed yard. Two separate living areas, both with Netflix, Spotify, Free to Air on the flat screen TV’s. Be personally greeted by Sue or Kev, or if arriving late, the option of a lockbox. If you let us know your ETA, heating/aircon will be running if necessary, and lights will be on if arriving at night, so you will immediately be cosy.
Sue, Kev and Minnie (our Cairn Terrier) live next door, so if you have any issues or needs, we can assist promptly. Be assured that you will still have your privacy due to the distance and vegetation between the two properties. Minnie loves greeting our guests, so please let us know beforehand if this will be a problem.
Please note, the Burra township is approximately 2kms away, it’s a lovely walk into town along the creek bed path (weather permitting). Burra itself has two pubs, cafes, antique shops, petrol stations, newsagent, chemist, clothing stores, post office, bakery, the Visitor Centre and the Cookaburra for takeaway food. The White Cedar cafe is an Indonesian Restaurant, highly recommended if you don’t want a pub meal. The Bon Accord Museum, Burra Railway Station and two hotels are in immediate proximity to the cottage. The Clare Valley wine region is a 30 drive away.
