Just 300m to the beach and surrounded by a fresh water creek, it is the perfect location to unwind, explore nature and rejuvenate.

After crossing the Alexandra Range visitors encounter the first bit of ‘civilization’ north of the Daintree River at Cow Bay, located halfway between the Daintree River and Cape Tribulation and offering the beautiful Cow bay Beach and rainforest experiences. The turn off to Cow Bay Beach is at Buchanan Creek Road where your stay Butterfly bend is the last house just before the beach. Watch for birds such as the local rainbow pigeon named the Wompoo, or the stunning giant blue Ulysses butterflies flittering around the back of the house along the bend of the creek that the house is built upon and cassowaries that wonder in and out of the property. The three secluded bays of Cow Bay Beach are perfect for relaxing, swimming and snorkelling on the inshore reefs and also fishing and beach walking. There are always shady spots on these beaches to rest and play.
