Chalet Aldica is one of only a handful of single-family, free-standing chalets in Zermatt, making it great for families and friends to enjoy cooking meals together and playing games by the fireplace. At Aldica, the groundfloor has one bedroom and a full bathroom with a tub, plus another room used for hanging jackets and such, which also has an exercise bike and a desk/chair in case you need to do some work. Up the stairs, on the first floor, is a well-equipped kitchen, a dining room (with a table that can seat 10-12), a large living room with a stone fireplace and floor to ceiling windows onto the terrace plus an additional full bathroom. From the living room you can watch the historic Gornergrat cog-wheel train make its way up the mountain or can look out at the traditional gadis/barns in the vicinity. On the top floor are four more bedrooms and one full bathroom with a soaking tub, bidet, dual-sink vanity and windows with views of the Rothorn and back down toward the village. Two of the top-floor bedrooms have partial matterhorn views, one has a balcony with matterhorn views and one has a skylight. Each bedroom has two twin beds (can be arranged separately or together), nightstands, closets and bedside lamps.

The chalet is located in the Winkelmatten neighborhood with direct access to hiking trails and the Matterhorn Express lift. Within one block of the chalet there are the following amenities to make your stay incredible - a corner store with fresh bread, produce, wine, hot cocoa, local handicrafts and very friendly owners, a playground, an historic chapel, a bus stop and a phenomenal restaurant with a lovely terrace and the best schnitzel in town! Start your mornings at the Matterhorn Express lift just 5 minutes walk from the chalet. You’ll be on the slopes in no time. When it’s time to return home for the evening, just follow Moosweg ski-run, which ends just a 5 minute walk from the chalet or return back to the base of the gondola for the 5-minute walk back up to the home. If you’re in the mood to dine out or go shopping, the village of Zermatt features more than one-hundred restaurants and sixty bars. The village’s nightlife is legendary, as Zermatt has a tightly packed downtown, with no automobiles to pollute its beautiful, and social atmosphere. 2 minutes walk from the chalet is a bus stop which services the Sunnegga funicular station (10 minute ride) and the Gornergrat Railway station (12 minute ride) for quick easy access to all the up-mountain options in Zermatt. The Gornergrat Railway station is also opposite the main SBB Railway Station (train connections to the rest of Switzerland) and main town square.
