Our first visit to willemstad was very relaxing We loved sitting along the river memorized by the colors and architect of the blgs, looking at the floating bridge as it opens and closes to allow boats to pass through and enjoying the eats and drinks of the locals . I must say the beers were extremely cold and refreshing on those hot days . We felt safe exploring the sites even late at night. Attraction and amenities were located within walking distance .The locals were very friendly and helpful. I'm totally in love with the beaches , clean and crystal waters

On the map it seemed a whole lot bigger, but once you're there it's more compact than I initially thought. What absolutely helps is doing a walking tour in order to get a lay of the land! I booked mine through this website: https://www.freewalkingtourscuracao.com/. They offer tours in English, Dutch, Spanish, and Papiamentu.

I loved Avila Beach, the La Boheme Restaurant, the Dutch Treat snack bar near the Queen Emma Bridge. I also loved walking in the evening when it is cool, discovering the historical area of Willemstad, beautiful architecture. We arrived on the hottest day of the year, so we were told.
We arrived on the hottest day of the year, so we were told. We did the escape game app the first day, which was interesting, but we also saw most of the sites on our own the night before. The stores and shops were attractive and people are friendly. Probably should have grabbed our souvenirs here at the beginning of the trip vs. waiting til the end when we didn't have time to go back.

However you get a weird vibe staying there, lights in common areas are really dark and for a hostel you see no one and there is a weird vibe. How could it be with so many jakuzzis and beach areas available and even a bar? It feels like they have seen better days and management needs to redo a few minor things and they can be a having easy reviews up to 9-10 at booking.com. Local staff was very friendly.
