A beautiful 6 bedroom, 5 bathroom maison de maitre located in the heart of the King Louis XV Bastide, Carcassonne. Built in 1850, it famously acquired its unique Art Nouveau facade in 1910. In a suitably grand gesture, the French ambassador of Finland gifted the house to his wife in a prenuptial agreement. Sleeping up to 12 guests comfortably, it has a generous reception room connecting with a dining room, both leading out on to a private, secluded garden with outside seating for 12. It also has a bar room. All rooms have a modern en suite and some with air conditioning. All but one room has access to a private balcony. *LGBTQI Friendly *Please note that our Marble Suite (Deluxe Double Room with Balcony) has a large step and might not be suitable for guests with mobility or sight problems
La Maison de l'Ambassadeur is located just one block away from the lively bars, restaurants and cafes of the Place Carnot. The train station, mediaeval city and canal du midi are all within walking distance. The Touc or the Tourist Train can take you to the mediaeval city if you do not wish to walk.
