Modern Nomads was created in 2020 by a young couple who made the life-changing decision of leaving the city life behind and relocating to the countryside. The hosts are there to be attentive to your wishes and concerns and are dedicated to making your holiday the best one yet. Together, they speak 7 different languages and have followed training courses on the local region so as to be able to guide you and help you plan your vacation.

Property information

Our Safari Lodges are the perfect getaway experience for your next glamping holiday. Cosy and airy, with your own hammock, outdoor seats and table, the lodge also includes its own fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. All lodges are equipped with their own telescope for stargazing, TV and free WiFi. With just 5 lodges on site, this makes for an exclusive and intimate holiday. We have two types of lodges on site that can accommodate from 2 to 4 people. With some 15 hectares of land, there are also plenty of walks to enjoy! We can also lend you yoga mats, ping pong and badminton equipment and board games.

Neighbourhood information

Modern Nomads is located just outside the town of Thenon, a mere 15km north of the world-famous Lascaux caves. Thenon is a small village that boasts a bustling weekly market, a road of ”arts and flavours” and a ”Guinguette”, a vibrant bar overlooking a lake with concerts and special events throughout the summer. You’ll find in the village a Tourist Office, as well as a number of shops and businesses including a bakery, a shop selling regional products, a small supermarket, a library, post office, pharmacy, tobacco-bar, and petrol station. There are a number of restaurants and pizzerias in the village too. And finally, Thenon is also home to the largest tree-climbing forest adventure park in the Dordogne! Located in the Périgord Noir, we are ideally situated in order to make the best of the region’s many famous sites.
