Information correct at time of writing. ​The attractive historic town of Chepstow is four miles away, boasting one of the oldest stone built castles in Britain. While you’re visiting Chepstow, don’t miss Chepstow Racecourse – the venue hosts everything from food festivals to concerts. The evocative ruins of Tintern Abbey are just two miles away. Immortalised in a poem by Wordsworth, the ruins are set in a beautiful wooded valley with plenty of walks to enjoy. If Tintern whets your appetite for ruins, don’t miss Raglan Castle near Monmouth. With a great tower, gatehouse and moat, this is everything a castle should be. Further up the River Wye is the border market town of Monmouth, where you’ll find a famous 13th century bridge stretching over the River Monnow as well as modern boutiques and galleries. One of the delights of Monmouth is The Whitebrook, a Michelin-starred restaurant, but if you fancy creating a dish or two of your own, Usk Farmer’s Market has lots of stalls offering fine, fresh produce.
