Cliffside is the annex to a Victorian house that overlooks Moray Golf Club, the Moray Firth, Covesea Lighthouse and the distant hills of Caithness and Sutherland. It is newly refurbished to an extremely high quality, with all new materials, finishes and amenities. It has its own private entrance and small grassed garden area with stunning panoramic views, offering direct access to the golf course and across to the beach. Both beds can be split into singles. In the Super Kingsize room the beds can be 3' singles and in the Kingsize room they become 2'6' single beds.
We feel privileged to have one of the finest views imaginable, in a grand old house built from local stone. We are delighted to share this position with our guests. We enjoy the friendliness of the bustling town of Lossiemouth, the golf, walking and RAF Typhoon spotting. We relish cliff rambles, with chance to spot seals and dolphins in the crystal clear waters of the Moray Firth. We regularly head towards the Cairngorms to walk along the famous River Spey with its salmon,ospreys and up into the mountains to spot Golden Eagles and mountain hare. Or to visit a distillery for a wee dram.
Lossiemouth has a long association with the herring fishery, and more recently with golf, the RAF, yachting and watersports. It is famed for a benign 'microclimate' - being in the 'rain shadow' of mountains to the south, west and North means we get less rain and more sun than you might expect. And and NO MIDGES! There are rocky coves, sandy beaches, and pine forests to explore locally. Lossiemouth has a thriving food and drink culture, with coffee shops, pubs and restaurants close to the harbour. Elgin is a busy county town with cobbled streets and a wide array of national retailers, local shops, places to get coffee. Of particular note is the Gordon & MacPhail whisky emporium. The ruined cathedral, on the banks of the winding river Lossie, acts as a reminder of the long history of the town.
