Nestled within its own grounds on the banks of the River Lossie, The Mansion House is a peaceful getaway just a few minutes’ walk from the historical centre of Elgin. Lovely hotel, beautiful bathroom with super towels 😍, good breakfast and we could sleep with open windows, very quiet surrounding. Loved it! We sure wil come back!
Based in the former cathedral city of Elgin, The Mansefield Hotel is surrounded by rolling hills and vibrant glens. This is our 2nd stay here definitely recommend a stay here.
Laichmoray Hotel is conveniently situated on the periphery of Elgin town centre, less than 300 metres from the Elgin Rail Station. Raspberry Pavlova is out of this world. Breakfasts a feast fit for a king.
In the heart of Elgin, Sunninghill Hotel features a traditional restaurant and elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. The hotel is just a 5-minute walk from Elgin Railway Station. The room was extremely clean and comfy staff were friendly and food was good, parking was good.
Close to Elgin town centre, Crerar Eight Acres Hotel sits in 8 acres of manicured grounds. The staff was super friendly and very helpful. We booked a second night during our stay and no doubt we'll be back. Marked with a bright shining star!
Located in Elgin and within 600 metres of Elgin Cathedral, The Royal Hotel has a bar, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. Boasting room service, this property also provides guests with a restaurant. Location was great yards from train station

Quiet but a good amount to see and do. Very handy for trips on the whisky tour without feeling touristy, and Cairngorms outings with our kids. 20min drive from the Dolphin Centre in Spey Bay which the kids loved.
A beautiful quaint town surrounded by acres of farm land, Lossiemouth just a short distance from Elgin has breathtaking white sandy beaches. There are castles, distillery’s in abundance and all well worthy of a visit!
I did not see as much of Elgin as I would have liked as I was primarily there to walk the Moray Coast Trail, but I managed a half day to see some of the sights. A lovely park by the town centre leads to the impressive Catherdral ruins & the cleverly designed Biblical Gardens nearby. Also climbed up to the Duke of Gordon monument which gives views over the town. This is lit up at night & is a lovely sight. The town centre has most of the “usual suspects” shopwise which is just as well as I’m a coffee lover & need my fix of a morning! I would have liked to see Pluscarden Abbey but maybe next time...
Elgin town is small but still has its charm, you are on the whiskey trail and it is a good base for sightseeing. There are not many places to eat in the evening, only two what I would say are restaurants. There are pizza joints, and a few pubs. There are other restaurants further out, but you need to make reservations and drive to them from the Mansfiel hotel. We mainly ate at the Mansfield eatery, which had a small but good memu. We were very close to the town centre of Elgin, so it was close and easy to get round. We went on a distilliary tour which wad a nice couple of hours, If you are happy to drive out and about you can explore some fairly good places. Spiney castle, There are a few really good shopping areas like Brodys and Johnstons, we took a tour roud the Cashmire factory at Johnstons, a very interesting and worthwhile tour. Spey bay has a dolphin and whale conservation centre, where you can scramble over piles of shingle to get to the sea, where you can look for dolphins and whales, it is very difficult to get to the sea however, as it is a deep shingle and pebbly area, not good if you have difficulty in walking, there is an alternative in the centre for someone who is not too mobile as there are cctv cameras you can watch, these camera look out over the bay.
I was there for a wedding so was pretty occupied with friends throughout my stay. I didn't really spend a great deal of time in Elgin. I did have a great lunch at Johnsons Cashmere Factory. Lovely food and a beautiful building. The nearby beaches were stunning especially Spey Bay and Lossiemouth. I was very lucky with the weather which was another positive. Lots more to see on my next visit!
I know Elgin well as it was my mother’s home town. The town is a pleasant size with many fine stone buildings and a reasonably good selection of small and larger shops. The Cooper Park is very pleasant and Elgin Cathedral is well worth a visit. The Morayshire coastline, only a short drive from Elgin has some beautiful unspoilt beaches and is great for exploring.

Lovely great big town house in a great central area to the town of Elgin. We were travelling with 6 adults, three babies and there was plenty two more rooms to spare! On arrival there was a supply of bread, milk, tea ,coffee, biscuits, cereals and a whole load of other food for our use. It was really a lovely thoughtful touch. The house is in a great area for exploring beautiful Morayshire and beyond. Would love to stay again. Thanks Amanda for your hospitality.

Friendly & Flexible regarding check out time for my specific 1 night stay. Breakfast was fab with possibly the tastiest Black Pudding I can remember having for years... if i handn't been so full i would have asked for more... Wish I had asked Isobel (?) where she had bought it... Fairly narrow access road/street, however good private car park in hotel grounds and surrounds.

The owners were lovely and very helpful, they made a special effort to talk to us and it's always nice when they remember your name. The room was very clean and had everything you need including a handy guide to Elgin and the surrounding area. The breakfast was lovely too. Would definitely recommend.

We were in Elgin for a genealogy quest for my wife's ancestors. Lynne was most helpful in pointing us to the town library's genealogy experts. We visited various towns around Moray and felt well-informed. Breakfast was made-to-order and delicious. Bob was in the background taking care of things.

The apartment was lovely, pictures don't do it justice. Location is ideal, a couple of minutes walk to Elgin Main St, 24 hour Tesco 5 minute walk. Owner, Sean, is great, very friendly and helpful. Seating area for 4 outside apartment is perfect for pre- going out drinks. Will definitely return.

Being looked after in a welcoming and homely way. We can recommend the Moraydale for it's proximity to the centre of Elgin allowing visits to the eateries in the evening. A good base for touring the surrounding countryside.
