Rachel and husband Wayne and 12 year old son Henry have lived in this beautiful area of the Yorkshire Pennine's now for over 20 years. The views are spectacular, walking and cycling are two of the most popular past times in the area - the Tour de France came through our village in 2014 and there's a reason why - it's very hilly! We're set 1 mile off the main road down a country lane and when you reach the barn you feel like you're away from it all! Having lived in the area for a number of years we've got a good knowledge of local events, what to see and where to eat and are happy to share this with guests if they wish.

It's very peaceful at the barn as we're set down a narrow country lane away from the hustle and bustle. Within just 5 miles though there are farm shops (Bolster Moor and Brosters) plus supermarkets and shops and we're blessed with many country pubs and restaurants. We are set near to where the recent hit drama series Gentleman Jack (visit 'Shabby' Shibden Hall), Last Tango in Halifax and Happy Valley were filmed - writer Sally Wainwright was born just a couple of miles away. Just 6 miles away in Halifax, The Piece Hall is an amazing square which was renovated with a lottery grant in 2017 and wouldn't look out of place in an Italian city. You can also make a trip to Haworth (Bronte parsonage), The Yorkshire Sculpture Park, The Hepworth Museum, Wakefield and the cities of Leeds, Manchester, Yorks and Harrogate.
