Set within the Suffolk Coasts and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty the charming village of Westleton is home to two pubs, The Westleton Crown which serves an imaginative and varied menu and the more traditional White Horse Inn. With two excellent pubs within walking distance of the property it's the perfect excuse to treat yourself to a tasty supper or two during your stay. Westleton is also home to Westleton Heath Nature Reserve and RSPB Minsmere where you can discover some of the UK's rarest wildlife or enjoy an idyllic walk. The village is ideally located within a short driving distance of the popular beaches at Aldeburgh, Southwold and Dunwich. Aldeburgh is a picture-postcard seaside town with its promenade of colourful villas, pebble beach and fisherman's huts selling freshly caught fish and seafood. It has a bustling high street which boasts a number of independent shops and eateries. Formerly a pop-up restaurant, L'escargot Sur Mer is now a permanent feature on the High Street and offers a French inspired seafood menu. Other popular eateries include The Lighthouse, Regatta and Sea Spice. Each year the town hosts the annual Aldeburgh Carnival which is a fantastic three day event. Taking a short drive inland you will find yourself in the market town of Framlingham. The town is home to a magnificent 12th Century castle which was the inspiration for Ed Sheeran's Castle on the Hill. It's always worth visiting the town on a Tuesday or Saturday so you can purchase some local produce from the twice-weekly market. if you feel yourself getting peckish during your visit, the town has plenty of coffee shops, pubs and restaurants. The Station Hotel serves tasty lunches and evening meals, and the 221B Artisan Bakery produces freshly baked breads and patisseries. Other interesting local landmarks include Orford Castle, Sutton Hoo and the Woodbridge Tide Mill.
