So sorry to all who have tried to book since I listed here two weeks ago. There is a tech issue on the site's side, not mine, I'm accepting bookings then people can't pay. Please don't give up! They are working on it. Been letting elsewhere for over a year with no issues. This 140 year old cottage, tucked into a hill on a lane overlooking the ruined St Dogmaels / Llandudoch Abbey, is 5 minutes' walk to the village, 2.5 miles from the beautiful beach / coastline and only a 20 minute walk from the nearest town, Cardigan. The price reflects a 'bring your own linen - duvet and pillow covers, sheets, towels, bath mats, tea towels; dispose of your own rubbish' approach. It's spacious for 6 people (please note- the master bedroom has a standard double, the second bedroom has a small double bed, the twin room has a standard single and a trundle single bed, there is a two seater sofa bed innthe lounge) or luxurious for a solo traveller or small famiky; renovated with high-end fixtures whilst protecting historic features. There is parking for a small car - please note it is a narrow ramp in front of the cottage and by the garden benches and table; it is only suitable for experienced drivers. There is alternative paid parking in the village.

My grandparents bought Trefaes when I was a baby. It's always been home for me and renovating it with the help of local friends and businesses was a labour of love. Most guests are known to me or others in the village so it's only free to let out on here and tye other site a few weeks a year. An experienced host and guest of other people's holiday lets too, I care a lot about having a positive impact be it as an owner or a guest. My household also consists of my teenage kids and dog - all superbly well housetrained :-). I do not live all year round in the village so am unlikely to meet you in person, but will be contactable through the app. We have a team in the village who can be called out in an emergency so please let the owners know if there are any queries, concerns or problems.

The friendly, beautiful village of St Dogmaels has a community pub, a restauranty pub, a brilliant shop, fish and chips, post office and last but not least a lovely cafe by the ruined abbey. On Tuesday mornings we have the local farmers' market, fill your boots! The fabulous beach Poppit Sands, one of Pembrokeshire's best, is only a 10 minute drive from the cottage. We have other wonderful coastal walks and beaches, as well as the Preseli Hills of course, all within a short drive.# Our local market town Cardigan is a 25 minute walk or 8 minute drive away. It boasts lovely restaurants, shops and cafes and again there are many walks you can do from there, including along the river to the Welsh Wildlife Centre. There are boat trips, horse riding, canoeing among the many activities nearby. Cardigan Castle is worth a visit and don't miss the Water Mill tour, just 5 minutes' walk from the cottage in the village itself!
