Horsna is wonderful set on the edge of a sleepy, rural village located in a central setting not too far from most places to visit. It is purpose built, decorated and furnished to a very high specification and spotlessly clean. At the same time it's cosy and welcoming. The large, king size bed was very comfortable, all bedding and towels were pristine and good quality as are the toiletries in the bathroom. Jonathan and Chris are wonderful, welcoming hosts full of advice on places to visit and eat. Breakfast was delicious, generous and cooked to perfection with a very varied menu to choose from. The three walls of the living area all have large windows offering uninterrupted views of rolling countryside. I would highly recommend a stay there.

We are pleased to announce that we will re-open this Spring 2022 for a minimum of 2 day stay. We have hygiene policies in place and hope you enjoy a luxurious stay with us to enjoy peace and tranquility in this secluded setting with views across the stunning Cornish countryside. This newly built luxurious studio apartment is designed and built by craftsman to the highest specification. It has a spacious living area with unique swinging chair and multi media TV with broadband internet facilities. It has a fully equipped hand built wooden kitchenette with granite work tops for you to make your own lunches/light evening meals/BBQs. The facilities also include a fridge freezer, toaster, kettle and combination microwave oven. There is a dining area and a beautiful private shower room decorated to the highest standard. The garden and patio areas offer stunning far reaching countryside views. The local village pub/restaurant offers good cooked food and drinks. The well stocked village shop has a cafe, and post office. The local garden centre also has a cafe. Woodland walks are within walking distance from the Retreat. Beaches and stunning Cornish attractions are all within close reach
We are a friendly, quiet couple interested in good health, outdoor life, good food, walking, travel, culture, grandchildren, sailing and appreciative of family values, friendships and reciprocal humanitarian compassion. Chris is a retired theatre nurse/midwife/health visitor and Jonathan is a retired cabinet maker/boat builder. We are delighted now to be your hosts and aim to help make your stay in Cornwall as memorable and as pleasurable as possible.
Being in the centre of Cornwall means that both coasts are accessible. Just look at the weather forecast and choose the coast with the best weather for the day. So much to choose from; The picturesque fishing village of Port Isaac (Portwenn) on the North Coast, to the charming village of Polperro or the quaint sailing town of Fowey on the South Coast. Or go further West to Frenchman's Creek on the Helford or to Poldark's tin mine country. Or just stay local and pop up to the moors to Jamaica Inn. Beaches are approx 10 miles away on the North and South Cornish coasts. Padstow is approx 10 miles away. Cycle from the Retreat to the Camel trail approx 2 miles away. Beautiful Bodmin moor is just 3 miles away with Cornwall's highest pub serving fresh locally sourced food all day. 4 Golf courses are within easy distance of 4-10 miles away. Enigmatic Tintagel Castle approx 11 miles away National Trust Lanhydrock is approx 9 miles away. Pretty Fowey Harbour town is approx 35 minutes drive. Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are approx 40 minutes drive away. The use of an indoor swimming pool and SPA can be accessed in a near nearby holiday resort just 1 mile away.
