Carna island has been welcoming visitors for more than a hundred fifty years , Allison and Andy have been carrying on that tradition since 2003 with vast experience in the challenges of hosting on a remote island, your comfort and safety are their number one priority, Andy & Allison are also responsible for the regeneration of biodiversity on Carna. They are passionate about Carna and love to share this beautiful place with guests and friends old and new. Andy has more than forty years experience as a professional marina, sea angling , a wildlife guide and photographer, His hobbies include SCUBA diving , motorcycles and world travel . Allison has retired from nursing and turned her vast personal skills to caring for the guests on Carna. Her hobbies include drawing and painting her surroundings, snorkelling, outdoor life, and world travel with Andy.

In the Scottish Highlands the concept of "neighbourhood" is very different to that of a city or town, we are not amenities driven, for sure we need basic amenities to sustain living here, but what makes our "neighbourhood" is the people, our community, and a warm welcome. We are not a place to tick off things and places seen or done, more to experience an often very different holiday from more conventual venues. The Island of Carna sits in Loch Sunart i a sea loch in the north west Scottish Highlands, the Isle of Carna sits guarding the entrance to inaccessible Loch Teacuis. Here on Carna there are no man made "attractions" there are two other cottages on the island making it remote, secluded and quiet with only the breath-taking scenery and wildlife around you.
