The 10th Earl of Glasgow opened Kelburn Estate to the public in 1977 and converted the buildings which previously formed the ‘Home Farm’ which was fully operational up until the First World War. There is no written record of when Kelburn Castle was first built, but it is thought to be have been around 1143, The Secret Forest, one of Kelburn's best attractions, was built in the 1990s featuring a Giant's Castle, Gingerbread House, Teenie Weenie House, Crocodile Swamp, the Secret Forest is an additional on-the day charge per person. As well as the Yurts Kelburn Estate also have a campsite and the castle can even be hired out for private stays.

Our cosy hillside yurts, each fitted with a wood burning stove, offer incredible views over the Firth of Clyde and its islands. Perfect for a romantic weekend escape, or a fun-filled family stay, the beautiful site is just a short walk from all the activity at Kelburn. We have 8 yurts available to book. Our Standard Yurts sleep up to 4 people and our Premium Yurts sleep up to 6.Dogs are Welcome  Well behaved Dogs are welcome at Kelburn yurts.  All our yurts can accommodate a maximum of 2 dogs.  Please note, however, 2 large dogs are not suitable for the smaller 4 person yurts.   The site hosts a glass fronted communal building, known as ‘The Bothy’, which offers panoramic views. It also has a wood burner, a shared kitchen and living space, plus showers, toilets, and plug sockets.

Please be aware that on certain dates listed below, the Pavilion will be bustling with lively events like weddings, and the celebrations might go on until 1:30 am with music playing. If you happen to be staying nearby, particularly in the Yurts, which are about 100m uphill from the venue, you might want to consider bringing along some earplugs for a more peaceful night's rest.
