If you are looking for beaches, particularly for surfing, it’s a fantastic spot. Crantock to the west of Newquay, and Watergate Bay to the east, are within a 6-mile drive and offer excellent surfing with equipment for hire. If you have children in tow, a day at the beach is hard to beat. However, Dairyland which is virtually opposite the estate is worth a visit and offers swings, slides and an indoor play area. Other attractions include Trerice, an Elizabethan manor house belonging to National Trust, which is just 1 mile away. Meanwhile, The Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan also make good days out, as does exploring the country and coastal beauty of the traffic-free Camel Trail on foot or by bike.
