Lanscombe House (our house) is a listed former Dowagers House to the Cockington Court estate. We have lived here for 21 years and love the peace and quiet, the surrounding countryside but also the coastline that's so close. We think Cockington Village is unique for it's combination of coast and countryside.

The location is quite remarkable for its peaceful setting, lying at the head of a tranquil wooded valley just half a mile inland from the busy seafront so away from the noisy crowds, the drone of traffic and the clatter of passing trains. We have an abundance of local wildlife with many owls, foxes and badgers that visit our acre of garden as well as an occasional roe deer. Sometimes we need to remind ourselves we are so close to Torquay! Our village pub/restaurant is a short stroll away allowing you an easy first night choice but allow time to discover the many restaurants on offer in Torquay: from indulgent Michelin Star quality to great fish bistros and the award winning Church House Inn in the next village. In fact there are a whole variety of your favourite styles around the harbour and all just a short distance away. Many villages lay claim to being ‘picturesque’, but the village of Cockington is really special.
