Hi I’m Mark After travelling the world, I decided to settle down in Suffolk twenty years ago and started my own little business with a beautiful old derelict farm complex, which I converted into six lovely little cottages for people to escape from city life and enjoy the wonderfully rural experience that this area amazingly has, despite it’s close proximity to London. I love what I do and am ‘Hands On’ with welcoming guests to my own six cottages, as well as looking after my Cottage Agency 'The Grove Cottages' that soon developed as other owners came asking me to take on their cottages and give them the same level of personal customer care, attention, and promotion that we are known and appreciated for. I don’t want to be a huge company, I’m very happy to have a small agency where personal involvement is always the priority and where I can pick only places which I love and know inside out to join us. A characterful cottage in a Nature Reserve, on a wonderful unspoilt coast. Laundry Cottage is a Jacobean dream full of original character and quirky features. It has a magnificent antique Oak Four Poster bed, a working 1800’s kitchen range (for fun and chestnuts only) and an amazing 1700’s Breton bed built straight into the wall for kids of all ages to hide away in. Laundry Cottage has been featured in The Sunday Times ‘Coolest 100 Cottages’ A very special feature of this lovely historical cottage is that it is next to its own private Nature Reserve which you are invited to enjoy. Well behaved doggies are welcome in this cottage – dog charges apply The owners welcome their guests with a lovely Breakfast Hamper for a full English Breakfast. Downstairs is the pretty Kitchen and a beautiful wood panelled sitting room. Upstairs is the magnificent four poster bedroom, the ancient Breton Bed, the twin-bedded room and the bathroom. So, although the bedrooms are interconnected everyone can get to the bathroom without disturbing each other, but you do need to go through the master bedroom to get downstairs. There is a 20 Pound charge per pet for up to 7 nights. Please note that cottage owners cannot accept pets that have not been paid for, so please make sure that you have paid for your pet before arrival. Special Reduced rate for 2 guests using just one bedroom outside High Season. Please note that if you put in the number of guests as 2 then it is assumed you will only require one bedroom. If you want to use 2 bedrooms then you should put in the number of guests as 3, because outside High Season the larger cottages will have a reduced rate for 2 guests using only one bedroom reflecting the saving made on laundry and cleaning.

The owners have carefully laid winding footpaths that meander around the escarpment meadow of their Nature Reserve, giant Cedars of Lebanon, ancient oaks and many others are now in their mature grandeur. Carpets of bluebells, primrose and daffodil enchant this reserve which is a haven for birds and wildlife. You and your dog are very welcome to wander around and explore this beautiful reserve. There are footpaths going to Snape Maltings, the forests and lakes, which lead to the sea at Aldeburgh. Aldeburgh has some famous restaurants like The Lighthouse and The Wentworth Hotel, as well as a host of others – a real foodie’s delight. You are just 2 1/2 miles from the famous Snape Malting’s Arts, Crafts and Music Centre, containing many interesting shops and excellent restaurants. The Tunstall Forest of UFO fame is close by. The seaside at Aldeburgh is where you can buy fish and crabs straight from the fishermen’s huts on the beach, there are unique walks from there along the famous Orford Ness Nature Reserve or beside the salt lakes to Thorpeness. Laundry Cottage is perfectly situated to explore the famous local forests, and the pretty little Seaside towns in this area.
