The stylish and spacious Maltings Lodge is tucked away in a tranquil village setting in the heart of Suffolk. The property is merely a four minute's stroll from the award winning village pub, The Peacock Inn, with the village of Chelsworth itself is less than 10 minute's drive from the historic village of Lavenham. The charming, detached holiday retreat overlooks open countryside and hosts a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Perfectly suited to couples and families alike, this characterful cottage can sleep up to five guests in three bedrooms. The three bathrooms also make this property an ideal base for short breaks or longer stays.

The village of Chelsworth is considered one of Suffolk's prettiest and is situated within the heart of the Suffolk wool towns. Each year on the last Sunday in June, the village hosts an open garden event where over 20 gardens are open to the public with stalls and refreshments. The village pub The Peacock Inn has recently been awarded 2 AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence; this 14th Century timber-framed inn, nestled on the banks of the river Brett offers a menu of traditional pub classics showcasing the best of Suffolk produce. On your way into Chelsworth, it is likely you passed through the village of Monks Eleigh. The village is home to Bridge Farm Barns, a collection of independent retailers and a tea room which are well worth the visit if you can find the time. Less than 10 minute's drive from the property is the mediaeval village of Lavenham. The village is home to over 300 listed buildings with timber frames lining the narrow streets and lanes. The Guildhall is one of the finest timber-framed buildings in Britain and reflects the great wealth of Lavenham's early 16th Century success. Lavenham has a number of independent boutiques, galleries and restaurants including Number Ten and Lavenham Blue Vintage Tea Rooms. For the best ice cream in the area, be sure to visit The Parlour on the High Street. A little further afield is the historic village of Long Melford which was made famous by the artists Thomas Gainsborough and John Constable. The village boasts two stately manor houses, Kentwell Hall and Melford Hall. The main High Street has an eclectic mixture of shops, galleries, restaurants and hotels. Long Melford is also home to the Nethergate Brewery which is now open for tours where you can learn about the brewing process. The Suffolk Coast is just over an hour away by car and always makes for an enjoyable day out.
