There is also a lively calendar of local and community events with the highlight of the year being the Jethart Callant's Festival in July. Visitors can also enjoy The Jedburgh Pipe Band and Jedforest Instrumental Band concerts which take place at The Mercat Cross, next to the Jubilee Fountain as well as many other events through out the Summer months. Jedburgh is also handy for tourist attractions south of the border in Northumberland such as Hadrian Wall, Northumberland National Park, Holy island, Lindisfarne, Berwick Upon Tweed all within 1 1/2 hours drive away.
