If you are travelling for work the property is within an easy commute of approximately 15 minutes to Westlakes Science Park, Whitehaven, Workington, Cockermouth, and a little further to places like Dovenby for M Sport and in the other direction Sellafield Reprocessing facility whilst providing a truly stunning setting and Lakeland Views front and back. Our aim is to make visiting the Lake District as affordable as possible, originally we were only going to offer stays Monday - Friday and Friday - Monday however to be as flexible as possible you can book any dates you like all at an affordable rate the only limit we have had to request is a 2 night minimum stay due to the time and cost of cleaning the cottage and all of the bedding after each stay. We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to our former Miner's Cottage.

Miner's Cottage is a recently refurbished traditional 2 bedroom terrace located on the boundary of the Lake District National Park with stunning views towards Ennerdale Valley. Originally built to house miners of local ores mainly Iron used in the local steelworks. The narrow gauge railway has since been converted to form part of the Coast to Coast route where some of the original platforms still remain. Ennerdale Lake is just 3.5 Miles from the property, the local Ennerdale Brewery is just 1 mile along the road and the Coast to Coast cycle path is less than 500 yards away. The large windows provide uninterrupted views towards the Northern Lakeland Fells from the first floor,whilst the thick solid sandstone walls provide a feeling of comfort and being cosy when the Lake District weather isn't feeling so kind. The Accommodation comprises of the master bedroom with double bed, the second bedroom has contract bunk beds suitable for 2 adults up to 20 stone each with an additional sofa bed in the lounge making the cottage capable of accommodating up to 6 people. Parking is available down a small road directly opposite the property which keeps your vehicle off the main road.

Whether you are in the area for work or taking a holiday the English Lake District is a beautiful place to stay, catering for a wide range of interests including Walking, Hiking, Climbing, Cycling, Sightseeing, Kayaking and a host of adventure activities. Within 20 minutes you can visit Whinlatter Forrest with a number of walking and Mountain Bike trails, heading south Wasdale Valley and Scafell Pike are within easy reach and to the east are popular Lakeland towns such as Keswick. Whatever your reason for visiting the Lakes we hope you will have an enjoyable stay.
