Hi I'm Emma your host, I have lived in Torquay since my childhood. I have two children who I have bought up in Torquay so we have spent many a day at the local attractions such as Paignton Zoo, Cockington, Waves Leisure Pool and of course the beaches. We spend most of the summer at the beach and Meadfoot beach is still my favourite. Torquay is a lovely place to visit, I have dogs and really enjoy exploring the coast line, I am still finding new places even now. We have some great beaches that are dog friendly all year round and of course are just 30 - 45 mins away from Dartmoor. Nightingales is our first holiday let, we have taken time to create a beautiful home from home for you to enjoy.

Nightingales is a listed building that has been converted into a modern home. There is ample space for 4 adults, children over 13 are welcome. The house is beautifully furnished, the upstairs bedroom can either be set up as a super king OR two single beds and the downstairs bedroom has a king size bed. The main bathroom is upstairs and there is a downstairs WC. During your stay you will have the entire house to yourself. On the day of arrival I will message you via Booking . com with all the information you need to check in. Dogs are welcome (a maximum of two dogs). We kindly ask that dogs are kept on the hard floor areas and not left home alone. The house has a secure courtyard off the downstairs bedroom, the front garden is private with seating but is not completely enclosed. Please click on Show Map just below to see where we are and what is nearby. Torquay is quite a hilly place, with its famous 7 hills that provide the back drop to the coast line.

The nearest beach is Oddicombe beach (1.5 miles), Oddicombe is part of Babbacombe Bay. We often enjoy breakfast on the beach at Three Degrees West, you can take a ride back up the cliff on the Cliff Railway if you are not feeling too energetic. Along the cliff top of Babbacombe are various pubs and cafes. The Babbacombe Bay Hotel has a lovely menu and outdoor space or why not pick up some fish and chips from the award winning Hanbury's Fish & Chip shop and have a picnic on the Downs. Walking to Oddicombe or Babbacombe is relatively flat, the beach are both down steep paths, hence the famous Babbacombe Cliff Railway. If you exit Furzehill Road and go to the left you will arrive at a Plainmoor shops. Some of the shops include a supermarket, convenience shops such as a green grocer, various take-aways including fish and chips, Indian, Chinese and pizza. Exit and go to the right and you will be at the top of Torquay town. Torquay harbour has been regenerated in recent years and there is a vast selection of eateries and bars around the Harbourside. Our guests often take a taxi or the bus when returning back to the house rather than walking back up the hills.
