Mr Harvisons is a delightful townhouse in the heart of old Ambleside. This deceptively large property is set over three floors. There are two double bedrooms, both of which are en suite and a twin room. In the separate family bathroom is a large freestanding bath. The front entrance opens up into a fantastic open plan living-dining-kitchen space with the staircase taking you up to the first floor, for the first en suite double bedroom and the family bathroom. From the first floor you can also access the back room, called The Bothy, which also provides access to the backdoor and a small outside seating area. The Bothy also provides another quiet sitting room area. Up onto the second floor there is another double en-suite bedroom with the twin bedroom across the landing. A great advantage is that a parking permit is allocated for one vehicle with the cottage to use at Westmorland and Furness Council car parks in the area.

The bustling town of Ambleside has become a popular tourist resort offering a diverse range of eateries from picnic takeaways to a Michelin starred restaurant. It boasts three cinemas, gift shops, outdoor clothing stores, hotels, cafes, pubs and a park with outdoor activities. It even has its own Roman ruins to explore, for those interested in history. Of course England’s largest lake, Windermere, is on the doorstep offering all the fun of a variety of water sports, lake cruises and is just a great place to sit and watch the world go by. For those who wish to explore further afield, Ambleside is a connection point for buses to connect guests with the wider towns and outstanding scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. Leaving the car behind and jumping on a bus to explore the National Park not only helps to look after the spectacular landscape but also gives passengers the opportunity to see it without the challenge of negotiating narrow, and sometimes steep, country lanes or search for parking at your destination. By sitting back watching the landscape go by, the journey becomes part of your adventure!
