Set behind private gates, this stunning, detached, 4-bedroom barn conversion in the rural hamlet of Elkstone, close to Cheltenham, is decorated and furnished to a very high standard with light and bright décor that enhances the beautiful period features to create a contemporary feel. Oldbury Barn is the perfect family residence, sleeping a max of 8 adults (+3 children) guests across two ensuite double rooms downstairs, and two family rooms, sharing a family bathroom, upstairs. Outside there are stunning views across the countryside and a large garden and patio, including sofa, table and chairs and a BBQ, as well as a slide-swing set and sand pit. It is the policy of this property not to take bookings for groups where the majority of guests are under the age of 25, or single-sex group celebrations, including stag/hen parties. This property is ideal for family groups. This property accepts a maximum of 8 adults. Two well-behaved dogs are permitted at an additional fee. The mezzanine balcony has a lower than average bannister, children should be supervised. While there is no TV at Oldbury Barn, the property has a TV licence allowing guests to watch live/on demand services online on their personal devices.

The hamlet of Elkstone was first mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and is one of the highest settlements in the Cotswolds, affording it breath-taking views of the surrounding countryside and valleys. Lying halfway between Cirencester and Cheltenham, just off the A417, the village is the perfect location to explore both of these Cotswolds’ towns, and the villages and places of interest in between. At the heart of the village is the 12th Century church of St John the Evangelist, which towers over the surrounding countryside at 1,000ft above sea level. The nearest general store (1.8 miles) is Colesbourne Stores, Filling Station and Post Office (GL53 9NP), selling a range of essentials and locally produced meats, produce and bread. Guests have two nearby pubs to choose from, both about 1.5 miles’ drive or walk from Oldbury Barn: The Green Dragon and Colesbourne Inn. Relax at the C-Side Spa: Just over 2 miles from Oldbury Barn is the fabulous C-Side Spa at Cowley Manor. Walks: Oldbury Barn is right at the heart of great walking country. A 4.5-mile moderate walk takes you from the Barn to Cowley, through the woods, along the River Churn and back again.
