Quails Nest Cottage is a newly built holiday let, completed in 2019 with some stunning views out over the Northumbrian countryside. Guests arrive in to the large kitchen-living area with the dining table around to the side. Edlingham is a small hamlet approximately six miles southwest of the popular tourist town of Alnwick. Despite it's small size, there is plenty of historical interest and plenty of footpaths dotted around. The medieval church of St John the Baptist is well worth a visit while beside the church is the striking ruin of 13th-century Edlingham Castle. Much of it is in ruin, but the striking solar tower still rises to a considerable height. Just behind the castle runs an imposing Victorian-era viaduct, which dominates the green valley.
