Justine is a wonderful & lovely host who makes you feel very welcome indeed. The house has to be seen to be believed it's utterly gorgeous & very quaint & quirky! The room itself has all the facilities you could want for, there's even bathrobes for the guests. The bed is so comfy as many other guests have stated, there's an electric blanket & a hot water bottle for the colder nights. The Rosie & Jim ragdolls brought back happy memories. I enjoyed my morning cuppa in the beautiful garden before leaving. It's so quiet you wouldn't believe you were a few minutes from Colchester town centre. I highly recommend you stay at Quaint & Quirky.

A warm welcome to our beautiful quaint & quirky home! *CHECK IN & OUT TIMES* Check In - 16.00pm to 23.00pm Check Out - 10.00am latest *PARKING* Parking outside my home is NOT allowed as it's Residential Permits only. A public parking facility is 0.1 mile (it's 50p overnight & 2.50 for the day) *HOUSE* Quirky bedroom overlooks the garden, pool & seating area. Please check out ABOUT THE HOST below to see what we provide for our guests. *LOCATION* We're in Colchester Town centre, near Colchester Castle, it's beautiful park & gardens House is a 2 bed cottage style over 200 years old, it has a number of features, original wooden floorboards upstairs & an open fireplace. Bathroom is downstairs which is normal for a 200 year old Cottage. *NOTE* Guests are NOT allowed to use the swimming pool or BBQ. We do NOT offer food, laundry or kitchen cooking facilities. NO smoking inside the house ever. Penalty Fine 100 pounds NO smoking/taking drugs ever. A warm welcome to my Quaint & Quirky Home in historic Colchester Town. PLEASE READ. We do NOT offer food, laundry or cooking facilities. You can warm food up using the microwave or order takeaway or eat out. Bathroom is downstairs & shared with hosts. QUIRKY BEDROOM INFORMATION It's quirky as it is 2 rooms, one is the main double bedroom with annex room, it is my sewing room storage area with personal effects stored inside the wardrobe & drawers as the boxes on the shelves here. You're very welcome to use the floor space here for your luggage etc. The double bedroom has plenty of storage for your clothing etc. Price Includes the below facilities in the room. WiFi. Kettle, Tea, Coffee, Sugar, Milk & Water. 2 x Mugs, 2 x Glasses, 2 x Teaspoons. Recyclable cutlery. Glass water bottle. (refillable from downstairs) Sweetie Treats or Biscuits. (availability is not guaranteed) Tissues. Mini Fridge. (for milk or canned drinks) I-box Bedside wireless charging alarm clock radio with USB charger & bluetooth speaker. (instructions are in top bedside drawer) TV 4K UHD built in Netflix, TV Channels. (see TV remote) Chrome cast. (you can cast from your phone to the TV) Bedside lamp. Electric heated blanket. Teddy bear hot water bottle. (yes you can have a cuddle) Book selection. Waste basket. 2 x White Bathrobes (they are for your use during your stay only & not for you to keep). Fresh bedding. Fresh guest towels. Pamphlets & leaflets for Colchester & surrounding areas. Possible access to luggage drop off or storage. (availability depends only if we're home at the time). Iron & ironing board. Hair dryer is NO longer available. Lock on the inside of the door. (mutual trust this is our home & we entrust you with our house keys) Front door key (if required that is) Storage for clothing. Hooks & hangers. Chair. WiFi information. PLEASE NOTE: Sadly due to the behaviours & activities of some previous guests the guest room will have to be checked over before you leave.
HELPFUL GUEST INFORMATION. We DO NOT offer food at all or cooking facilities (you can warm up microwave meals, order takeaways or eat out) nor do we have laundry facilities (one is within walking distance). As we live in Colchester Town, parking is residential permits only, but there are parking facilities 0.1 mile away, a few minutes walk from the house to Butt Road Car Park. It costs 50p overnight & 2.50 throughout the day. We recently upgraded the security for our home, we have cameras in front & back gardens as well as in the living room downstairs, plus we have a video doorbell this is for both us the hosts & you the guests safety & protection at all times. We are at home most of the time, so if you have any issues, allergies or an emergency we are there to help you in any way we can. OUR AREA. We live a moment's walk to Colchester Town centre, our house is 200 years old, (as told by 50 year veteran on the street) the neighborhood is steeped in history from the last few thousand years!! We have several museums nearby, as well as Colchester Castle & it's grounds as well as the old Abbey & many other historic buildings! There's a lovely pub The New Inn on the corner just a moment's walk from where we are that also has a lovely wood burner going in the winter & a nice range of beers, ales, spirits & soft drinks We are within a few minutes walk to Colchester Town centre, where you have so many choices regarding coffee shops, restaurants, night clubs, pubs, cinemas, theatres & a roller skate place as well as many various high street shops. We have two main line train stations, Colchester & Colchester Town nearby as well as the bus station. You can catch a train from Colchester straight to Liverpool Street station, London is approx 50 mins. Colchester Castle is a 5 mins walk away Colchester Zoo is a few mins away Mersea Island beach is approx 15 mins Harwich Port is approx 20 mins Colchester has so much to offer, please do come visit!
