Newark upon Trent is a quintessential English market town. It is home to the National Civil War Centre, a stunning riverside castle dating back to the early 12th century, and a thriving cobbled market place overlooked by its Georgian Town Hall. Newark offers a tempting array of antique shops, boutiques, cafes and plenty of places to eat including a selection of historic pubs. The National Trust property, Belton House in Grantham is not too far away where you can enjoy a visit to the house, gardens and parkland. Head towards Nottingham to make a handful of memories, where you can hike through the Skylarks Nature Reserve, tour the underground landscape of the City of Caves, attend a show at the Theatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall, or opt for a spooky day out at The Haunted Museum.
