Meet the Holcombe Hut, our gorgeous holiday retreat in the Devon countryside overlooking the edge of woods. A bespoke Shepherd’s Hut, lovingly made by Pumphrey & Weston of Cornwall. If you are looking to relax, unwind and recharge in the most beautiful, peaceful surroundings with a huge variety of activities close by, then this is for you. We are certain you will leave us relaxed, recharged and refreshed. Embrace all that Devon nature has to offer outside, toast marshmallows on the outdoor firepit, try your hand at pizza making with our Ooni oven, then retreat into your cosy, romantic accommodation. Equipped with wi-fi, Everhot oven, fridge, shower room with heated towel rail, sky light to watch the stars, outdoor terrace to enjoy your meals, lazy days in the hammock. King size bed with Simba mattress. Lots of oak finishings. The garden is stocked with lovely plants and you have an allocated car parking space just a few yards away from hut. The kitchen is well-equipped for your glamping getaway, including our Everhot stove, perfect for keeping the hut nice and toasty while also doubling up as a small oven! The sumptuous king-size bed is perfect for a good night's sleep. A stargazing roof, where you can watch the night sky sparkle from where you rest your head. Under bed storage. The en suite shower-room sits to the right of the hut and is perfect for freshening up after a day of adventures, making it the perfect home-from-home for a little while. Step outside and the magic continues. Enjoy dining al fresco on the private patio. There's even an Ooni pizza oven! Just perfect for romantic date nights. You may be lucky to see or hear foxes, woodpeckers, finches, nuthatches, owls, buzzards, deer, our own dear hens. Optional extras can be booked at the start of the stay these include flower decoration/ glass bed jewellery workshops, extra wood, hammock hire, set up & use of Ooni Pizza oven, and laundry. There is a cost on arrival for one dog per stay.

Within 15 minutes of us you can access Dartmoor National Park and Exeter City Centre. Dawlish and Exmouth are just 30 minutes away. The Hut is easily accessible, in the village of Longdown to the west of Exeter, just 10 minutes or so from the M5 and the A30 is three miles away, the connection into Cornwall. There are lots of outdoor activities nearby including Kayaking, walking, cycling, golf, horse riding, climbing. Within easy reach of The Holcombe Hut, there is a wealth of interesting places to visit, beautiful open outdoor spaces, exciting days out, and a whole host of entertainment for every taste. Why not take a day trip to Dartmouth by steam train from Buckfastleigh or by ferry from Totnes and visit The Donkey Sanctuary, Agatha Christie’s Greenway, NT Killerton House, NT Knightshayes Court, or take a walk around the Challacombe Vineyard … wine tasting with lunch or High Tea (a lovely experience). Also, the Eden Project is a wonderful day trip. If you bring your bikes, you could cycle the Grand Western Canal from Tiverton or walk the coastal path. Dartington Hall and Gardens near Totnes is lovely and Buckfast Abbey, on the way to Totnes, is a quiet retreat away from busyness. Exeter Racecourse have races and fairs/car boots during the year. In May, we have the ever popular, Sidmouth International Jazz and Blues Festival, as well as our Devon County Show at Westpoint, Clyst St Mary. For rugby, visit Exeter Chief’s stadium at Sandypark, Exeter. For local crafts visit ‘Make’ in the Riverside Mill in Bovey Tracey.
