Our golden rule on entering the apartment is, 'make yourself at home!'. The main-door duplex apartment is located on The Shore in Leith in a converted Victorian ice house providing stylish and spacious accommodation. On the ground floor there is a king-size bedroom with fitted wardrobes with a full-length mirror and a shower room next door. The stairs from the entrance hall lead to the open plan living room with a kitchen and dining area. This bright and welcoming living area is 50 sqm and equipped with 2 sofas and a wing-backed chair, a smart sony television, dvd player, Bose sound system and wifi. The kitchen is fully equipped ready to make some fresh coffee or a family meal. From the kitchen the hallway leads to a king-size bedroom, a family bathroom and a further en-suite king-size bedroom. All the bedrooms are made up with luxury linens and towels and have fitted wardrobes, with full-length mirrors and hairdryers. A welcome pack is provided upon your arrival with tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, jam and a bottle of wine. All that remains is for you to kick off your shoes, settle in and enjoy your stay at The Ice House Edinburgh.

I am from Scotland & I have lived in Edinburgh for over 15 years. Whilst I commute both to London and Spain for work, I would always want my home to be based in Edinburgh. I just love the city! I have lived & worked in Brussels, France & Spain, travelled alot in the USA & Turkey and I am fluent in French & Spanish. I love to experience local culture where ever we go as a family. Most often when we travel we book a private house/apartment as it gives us more space & lots of flexibility. I always want to be in Edinburgh during the Festival, never for the weather but just for the wonderful, vibrant atmosphere, the range of events from, comedy, theatre, opera, dance, literature, music & film. There is truly something for everyone. There are also a great selection of restaurants in Edinburgh & I am happy to share my favorites! Autumn & winter are great times to explore Edinburgh & the surrounding areas away from the crowds. Edinburgh is definately a great city to explore on foot; there are hills, beaches & city gardens all within a 3 mile radius of the city centre. As a family we like to explore Islands off the West coast of Scotland which are listed as some of the most stunning places in the world; but remember to come to Edinburgh first! The Scottish larder has an abundance of wonderful ingredients, from seafood and shellfish, out-door reared beef, lamb, venison and game, to local vegetables, herbs and soft fruits. There is no shortage of options for dining in Edinburgh from Mitchelin-starred and award-winning owner-chef restaurants serving the best of Scottish cusine to lively gastro-pubs and gourmet burger bars and wonderful international dining. There is also a local farmer's market on Castle Terrace at the back of Edinburgh Castle where you can buy an array of local produce. For those who wish to explore further, it only takes minutes to get to the beaches and golf-courses of East Lothian, or travel further afield to the Borders or across the bridge to Fife for walking, cycling, golf, horse-riding or sample some of the local produce in the many local cafes and restaurants. Edinburgh is often described as a city formed of many villages. The historic Port of Leith is one if those. The 'Shore' area of Edinburgh is the vibrant port area of the city. On the 'Shore' you will find a fantastic selection of bars & restaurants, including Michelin starred and award winning owner-chef restaurants all a few hundred meters
