The business was originally developed from the humble restorations of the historic Coppermines buildings, situated in the Coniston Coppermines Valley by Philip Johnston and his family who still own our business today, making us one of the last independent agencies here in the Lake District. Over the years we have significantly grown to now offer over 90 hand-picked, unique, self-catering Lake District cottages (many pet-friendly), all of which are situated within the UNESCO World Heritage boundary.

This comfortable 3 bedroomed cottage enjoys fantastic views down the Coppermines Valley towards Coniston Water. The largest of our mountain cottages, Sawyers is a great base for groups and celebrations and there is a private hot tub for guests use. Also in Coppermines Valley is our magnificent, restored waterwheel. Proudly situated at the Mountain Cottages, this spectacular waterwheel looks all the more majestic in this dramatic mountain setting.
