Thwaite Cottage has lots to offer bird lovers due to its proximity to the Yorkshire Nature Triangle, including RSPB Bempton, Spurn Point and the North Cave Wetlands. For golf enthusiasts there are numerous courses within a few miles, and there is fishing nearby as well. The stately homes of Burton Agnes, Burton Constable, Sewerby Hall and Castle Howard are also worth a visit, with many of them offering a program of events throughout the year from Proms Spectaculars to Christmas extravaganzas.
