Tithe Barn Hotel is a staff-less hotel, with smart Yale locks for a hassle free, flexible check in. Parking is paid for but is off-site in a public carpark just around the corner from the hotel. Breakfast is served at the fantastic Veeva Cafe just two doors up, serving a range of hot and cold breakfasts with a smile.

The market town of Cockermouth is one of only 51 towns in Great Britain designated as a ‘Gem’ town, is the birth place of famous poet William Wordsworth, the house is kept in beautiful condition and is great for a tour, you really feel like you’ve been taken back in time. For beer lovers, the town is famous for Jennings’s Brewery, take a tour and sample some of their own brewed beers. Cockermouth Castle also makes this market town an attractive place for visitors, although not often open for tours of the castle itself, it is still a lovely sight to see as you walk along the edge of the river Derwent.
