The breakfast was excellent. We are huge coffee lovers and the coffee was amazing. We wanted to just relax and unwind and we did. It was the perfect getaway for us. We will be coming back.

View from the pool! Staff were exceptionally friendly and very efficient. Location is idyllic - lovely for walks in surrounding countryside. Room was huge and beds very comfortable. Breakfast was exceptional.

Beautiful historic building, very grand. The scenery was stunning. Windows rattled when windy - nothing a wedge couldn't sort. Plenty of options for breakfast. Didn't use the swimming pool but it was lovely. There are two buildings - one with Charlies restaurant and pool and the other - I stayed in the one with the pool which is on the island - if you have a preference you may like to say upon booking.

Prior to arrival, we had asked whether we could have a room in Walton Hall (on the island) which they were able to accommodate. It is a beautiful building with a lovely bridge to access. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was lovely, very good size, view overlooking the lake. Breakfast was good. Cannot fault the hotel.

We only had a brief stay from mid afternoon one day until 10am the next. However, we had an excellent supper in Charlie's bar which we understand that due to Covid were covering the usual restaurant meals plus the bar food. The staff were excellent and the food delicious. Breakfast was very good - best we have had since we began our multi stop tour of the North and Scotland. In particular the young lady on duty on the 13 July was worthy of a mention. Helpful, welcoming,friendly with just the right quiet but efficient manner.
