Wish Cottage is a charming, cosy, Grade II listed, flint cottage built in the 1750s. There are beautiful oak beams throughout as well as everything you'll need for a relaxing, fun filled break. The two bedrooms sleep 4 comfortably and the kitchen-diner is fully equipped. Please note we have a shower (no bath)in the bijou bathroom. We supply hand towels only. There's wifi and a flat screen Freeview TV so bring your Netflix login. Outside there is a washing machine and tumble dryer in the outhouse and a small back garden with decking and a table and chairs. The path from the back gate leads directly to The South Downs National Park but take note-it's quite a steep climb! The whole cottage is for the sole use of our guests. The back garden is fenced. The front gardens are open. Other things to note; Although at one time it housed a family of 7 (!) overall it's a small cottage. There are stone steps up to the cottage and some low beams where you may have to duck! The on road parking is free. When the pub next door is busy it may be more difficult to park but there are plenty of other roads nearby. The pub is a dining pub and doesn't host parties so is not noisy!

We have been renting out this cottage since June 2018 and have been delighted with the positive feedback we've received! We live close by and love the area. We enjoy the great outdoors and Willingdon Village affords us lots of opportunities to go walking. The cottage was a little neglected when we bought it so it's been exciting to get it back into use. The four cottages were originally for agricultural workers and sit within a Conservation area. They are Grade 2 listed so much of what you see today has remained untouched for nearly 300 years! We've enjoyed learning about the history and the previous occupants of the cottage and have left this for guests to see in our welcome folder. A family of 7 lived there in the 1800s for many years! We hope you enjoy our cottage, we tend to let our guests alone but can offer advice or suggestions if required.
