The cabins are utterly charming, spacious, and well appointed. The sounds of the jungle at night are mesmerizing. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Despite being a little up the hill from the lake and in jungle this lodge was spotlessly clean. The construction of everything was beautiful and obviously done with a lot of care and skill. We spoke for a long time with the caretaker Santos, and he was one of the most friendly and helpful people we have met in Guatemala. This lodge is quiet and great for a nature experience. We felt lucky to have stayed here. We did the nature walk at the Biotopo next door and saw both Howler and Spider monkeys.

The setting in the jungle environment with so many birds and monkeys feeding in the canopy was unique and entertaining. We watched birds any time of the day. Santos is there and attends to any need. He knows all the tropical forest trees because he worked as a chiclero. The food at the restaurant was excellent with a wide variety of dishes. The dinner menu just opened since COVID shut-down. We wanted to try other places but we knew there was no better food in town. The rooms were simple but very nice and comfortable and close to the kitchen. The paths were well marked and lite at night. The bugs were not bad at all. It is the dry season. Santos helps solve any problem.

Located in the jungle, well above the road with commanding views of Lake Peten - this is what separates Posada del Cerro from other hotels in El Ramate. Carefully crafted cabins, stone walkways, and a comfortable dining and meeting area combine to make this place a gem. Richard, the resident manager and his assistant Santos are very accommodating and communicate very well, offering extensive local knowledge. Each morning we had our choice of breakfast, plus their specialty fruit smoothies are amazing. Another bonus is the local public beach directly across the road.

The service was 15/10! the cook/receptionist arranged for a tuk tuk to pick us up from the bus stop. we arrived hot and sweaty and were greeted with a cold glass of hibiscus juice. I loved the ecological environment, the stone paths, the thatched roofs, the clothesline for drying clothes. the property has so many places to sit and relax. benches, chairs and hammocks are everywhere. We met the owner and she gave us a tour and changed us from one room to another so our group could be together. the food was delicious!

Everything was absolutely fantastic. Food, prices, location, stuff, room, bed. Perfect accommodation to visit Tikal, Yaxha and Flores. The place is quiet so perfect for resting. The staff is incredibly kind.
