Within a few minutes walk you can reach the Palazzo dei Normanni and its Palatine Chapel, as well as the Cathedral with the Treasure and the Royal Tombs. The structure, which overlooks Piazza Indipendenza, is located in front of the head office of the Sicilian Region (on the other side of the square), and close to the Cittadella Universitaria of Via delle Scienze and the underground and train station for the airport ( Orleans / Royal Palace). The "Scianna" Barracks of Corso Calatafimi can also be reached by bus shortly on the route that leads to Monreale in a few kilometers. A walk will take you to the Catacombs of the Capuchins, to the Chamber of Wonders or to the "Martorana" and to "San Giovanni degli Eremiti", as well as to "Palazzo Riso" (Museum of contemporary and modern art), to the Diocesan Museum, to Central Library.
