Traditional Japanese craft and culture are merged with contemporary comforts and luxuries. Our 6 upstairs bedrooms are a mix of 4 queen rooms and 2 loft rooms with single beds. Perfect for a group of friends on a special occasion or multiple families wanting to escape the city. All beds have considered luxury bedding - perfect to rest and recoup after a big day exploring the local area. If you love to cook, we have a fully equipped commercial-style kitchen with everything you need. As well as high-speed internet with access in all areas for those who need to keep the world turning. And free Netflix and Disney Plus access on our smart TV for nights when you want to stay in and snuggle down. SUGI is a luxury mountain cabin where nature is not only admired but celebrated throughout every aspect of interior design and styling. A restrained color palette aims to showcase the raw materials used and help reflect a sense of connection to the surrounding natural landscape we cherish so much. With this in mind, we have intentionally catered for our winter lovers and SUGI has all the necessary facilities for powder hunters and adrenaline seekers. If winter is not your season then the oversized bay windows are the perfect place to see the sakura bloom or autumn leaves fall.

Our adventure began many seasons ago in Hokkaido and after chasing winter around the world we found ourselves drifting back to Japan. We believe that both equal parts luck and determination got us to where we are now. We bring our own style and vibe to this epic little lodge tucked up in the mountains and aim to make sure everyone who stays with us experiences a winter holiday they will never forget.

Sugi Chalet is a stone's throw from the romance pair chair lift at Suginohara ski area, and a 10 min walk to the main gondola and local onsen (Hot Spring). To make the most out of your stay at Sugi Chalet we recommend renting a 4wd vehicle that way you can really explore the Myoko area and what it has to offer, there are 4 main commercial ski resorts on Myoko itself and also the local secret, Seki onsen which is well worth a day trip. If you want to venture a little further you have Madarao, Tangram, Kurohime, and Lotte Arai around a 40 min drive from Sugi Chalet, perfect for a day trip.
